News & events Four young people enjoy incredible CenterParcs Holidays Four more young people living in the Children's Home at Prior's Court have been able to go on a short-break holiday, thanks to the incredible hard work of their supporting staff members. Holidays have long been a feature of Prior's Court's Young Adult Provision, but up until last year, thanks to the pioneering effort of Daniel, Harry and their staff members, off-site holidays had not been an option. Now, Otto, Rudi, Ewan, and Alexander all enjoyed extended off-site holidays to CenterParcs at the end April. Rudi and Otto went as a pair, followed by Ewan and Alexander. Each enjoyed stays in the on-site lodges at the venue, enjoying all the activities CenterParcs had on offer, including swimming, boat rides, land train trips, treetop climbs, arcade games and more. Natalie Boothroyd, Director of Care at Prior's Court, said “It is an aim of Prior's Court that we provide our young people with the skills necessary to thrive out in the community. Holidays like these provide the perfect opportunity for the young people to practice the skills they learn at Prior's Court out in the community, and gives them a chance to gain new experiences and relax if they want to! "For any young person the change of an environment and all that that can bring to our sensory experiences, different routines, sharing space with different people and many more factors can all be an unknown, but these four young people have achieved something incredible, and have had a lovely time doing it. "A huge thank you to all of the staff members who supported the four young people to access this fantastic opportunity."
