Our education & residential care Our approach to learning Exploring nature through photography: A creative project in cyanotype A new creative project led by Sammi, one of our Land-based Learning Instructors, is helping autistic young people with complex needs express themselves through the art of photography—without even using a camera. These amazing cyanotypes (created without using a camera by laying objects over a piece of paper covered with a special solution and exposing it to light) were created by the young people using foliage they have found around site. To add a personal touch, each young person was also given a printed photograph and encouraged to incorporate natural elements they found on site. The result? A unique fusion of photography and nature, showcasing each individual’s creativity and perspective. Archie, Toby, Ola, Amar, Yehia, Amen, Zak S Daniel L and Ethan all produced incredible works of art using this technique. Sammi said I wanted to create something that was accessible and impressive, and this technique was perfect. Every young person who took part deserves a massive thank you for their efforts. The pieces they've created are unique and eye catching and I can't wait to display them! Manage Cookie Preferences
