The first-ever assembly in our brand-new Piper Arts Centre was held on Friday, 20 June - an exciting moment for everyone at Prior’s Court. The design of the space allows it to be used for an array of different activities not just limited to the arts.

The theme of the assembly was World Ocean Day and young people were supported to explore the wonders of sea life, sing ocean-themed songs, and share birthday wishes with peers.

It was fantastic to see how positively so many of the young people responded to the new space. Their successful transitions into Piper Arts Centre reflect just how valuable this new facility will be in their development and daily experiences.

Flexible design to the fore

The design of the centre, including the moveable seating with the main performing space where the assembly was held, is already proving essential.

More and more young people are now having their first experiences in Piper Arts Centre with a series of successful transitions and sessions already taking place.

Piper Arts Centre represents more than just a new building. It is a vital part of our commitment to offering meaningful, enriching experiences that support communication, creativity, and confidence for autistic young people with complex needs. We are excited about the many future opportunities this space will provide for connection, celebration, and personal growth.
