Our education & residential care What young people learn New Music Teacher on board to broaden Creative Arts learning Prior’s Court now has a dedicated Music Teacher based at Piper Arts Centre, supporting the delivery of the music strand within our Creative Arts Learning Programme. Max has recently joined our team and is already making a positive impact through his work with the autistic young people with complex needs at Prior's Court. Max is currently with us two days each week and is spending this introductory period getting to know a wide range of young people across Prior’s Court. From the new year, Max will begin working to a more formal timetable within Piper Arts Centre, supporting the continued development of the music strand of our Creative Arts Learning Programme. Max also made an appearance as Father Christmas in our Polar Express production! Expanding opportunities through Berkshire Music Trust Alongside Max’s arrival, we have also begun working with Berkshire Music Trust to be able to offer piano lesson opportunites to young people at Prior’s Court. During the recent trial sessions, several young people demonstrated impressive natural musicality, showcasing talents that can be further nurtured through these tailored lessons. Why the Piper Arts Centre was built The Piper Arts Centre was built to offer autistic young people with complex needs a creative, inclusive space to express themselves through music, dance, and drama. It supports communication, wellbeing, and confidence through the power of the arts. The Piper Arts Centre was only made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors, whose incredible support has helped bring creativity and opportunity to life for the young people at Prior’s Court.
