News & events Planting roots for the future: A special 25th anniversary tribute As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, a commemorative tree was planted by a long-serving member of staff and one of the first autistic young people to be supported at Prior’s Court – a symbolic moment honouring the past, present and future of our community. Lynsey Preston, our Director of Safeguarding and Health & Safety, was joined by Jenny and her father Mark at our celebration event on Monday, 5 May to plant a Corkscrew Hazel tree in the orchard at Prior’s Court. Lynsey has been part of Prior’s Court for over 25 years, and Jenny was the eighth young person to join Prior’s Court School, arriving in March 2000. Their connection runs deep – Lynsey was once Jenny’s Head of House during her time at school, making this moment of planting the tree together especially meaningful. This planting took place during our Let Me Shine music festival, which this year doubled as our 25th anniversary celebration. The day brought together current and former young people, their families, and staff – past and present – for a joyful afternoon of music, games, and activities in the sunshine.
