World Book Day 2025 was celebrated at Prior's Court with a twist to ensure the autistic young people with complex needs we support were empowered to take part - but there was still plenty of dressing up, of course!

We had activities throughout the day:

  • starting with a story reading in morning group time in all classes;
  • round robin activities in our Lower School classrooms, including Room on the Broom messy play (making potions), and Zog sensory bins and dragon biscuit decorating/eating;
  • and the Young Adult Provision had a World Book Day arts and crafts activity.

Among the characters we had on display were the Tiger Who Came to Tea, Thomas and Friends, and our Day Class students took a more personalised take on the Mr Men and Little Miss characters.

Lucy, our Literacy Lead, said: "It was a lovely day and a great opportunity to celebrate books and share the joy of reading as a school community. "
