This week, our new Performing Arts Centre came to life as young people began rehearsals ahead of the official opening on Thursday, 12 June.

The centre has been designed as a welcoming, accessible space for autistic young people with complex needs to express themselves creatively. Rehearsals this week have been about more than preparing for a performance – they’ve been about getting to know the space, exploring the environment at each young person’s own pace, and building confidence.

From stepping onto the stage for the first time to interacting with lights and props, each moment has been a chance for young people to engage with the space in their own unique way. The centre is already echoing with music, movement and joyful expression.

We’re incredibly proud of the progress being made and excited to showcase the space at our grand opening on Thursday, 12 June. The event will celebrate not only the completion of a beautiful new facility, but also the creativity and individuality of the young people who will bring it to life every day.
