News & events "Bonne chance" to fabulous three fundraisers gearing up for Paris Marathon A terrific trio of fundraisers are taking on an overseas challenge to help transform the lives of young people at Prior's Court, including two brothers who are running as their cousin lives and learns here. Brothers Barney and Brook Hill, and fellow fundraiser Liam Scannell, are taking on the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris on Sunday, 13 April to support the autistic young people with complex needs we support. The brothers are tackling the challenge because their cousin Louis is a residential student with us. Their fundraising will go towards purchasing a quiet swing for use by the young people at Prior’s Court. Currently, all of Prior’s Court’s swings are in play areas or gardens, all of which tend to be noisy locations. Having a swing in a quiet location will be beneficial for young people who need some time away from a noisy environment to help manage their sensory needs and relax. Barney and Brook's cousin Louis in the grounds of Prior's Court Barney and Brook said: "As a family, we have seen first hand how the school has helped improve lives. Our young cousin Louis is a resident pupil and we have seen the dramatic and positive impact it has had on not only his development and wellbeing but that of his immediate and wider family. It truly is a special place that provides a nurturing environment and fulfilling opportunities for some of the most vulnerable. "With each step we take on this marathon journey, we move closer to helping Prior’s Court provide the essential resources and opportunities these children need to flourish and reach their full potential. Your support truly makes a difference." Donate to Barney and Brook's JustGiving page Meanwhile, fellow Paris Marathon entrant is also preparing to cross the Channel this weekend. Liam has set himself a target of £700, which will go towards our general funds.
