A building society branch has presented the fruits of its 2024 fundraising efforts in support of autistic young people with complex needs.

Prior’s Court received an amazing £4,335.64 donation from Newbury Building Society’s Hungerford branch.

The branch has been a long-time supporter of the work of Prior’s Court – staff had chosen Prior’s Court to be its Charity of the Year for the past five years.

Over the past year, staff at the branch have raised money through raffles, cake sales, a stall at the annual Hungerford Extravaganza, and via members who choose a charity account where interest accrued is donated to a charity of their choice.

Staff members Daisy and Leah from the branch came to visit our site on Thursday, 12 December to present the cheque and to see first-hand what a difference their donation will make.

Natalie Norris, Prior’s Court Fundraising Manager, said: “We are enormously grateful for the support of Newbury Building Society. This is the fifth year running that the Hungerford branch has raised funds for Prior’s Court and taken on corporate volunteering visits to our beautiful site.

“This kind of long-term partnership has a significant and long-lasting impact on the autistic young people with complex needs at Prior’s Court. A huge thank you to the staff at the Hungerford branch and its customers for their fundraising efforts in 2024.”

Matthew Wilding, NBS Senior Branch Manager for Thatcham and Hungerford, said:

It has been an amazing year and staff coming to present a big cheque always tops it off, as when visiting they can see first-hand where the money goes and the young people it supports.
