News & events Runner completes the Manchester Half Marathon in support of Prior's Court young people When deciding to take on her first half marathon on Sunday, 12 October, one runner used her personal connection to autism to support a charity close to her heart. Urenna Onyewuchi, who is based in Manchester, has a close relative who is autistic, so she felt a strong connection to Prior’s Court and the work the charity does for autistic young people with complex needs. This is why she opted to support Prior's Court when she takes on the Manchester Half Marathon over the weekend. She said: “I chose Prior’s Court because of the amazing work they’re doing and the beautiful impact they have on the lives of autistic young people living with complex needs." Urenna, being new to long-distance running, was nervous about this challenge, joking “I’ve definitely found the value in having a great playlist or an interesting podcast lined up!” She completed the challenge however, raising over £450 including Gift Aid for the autistic young people we support. When asked how the event went, Urenna said: "It was a really fun race, I think the last few kilometres were the most difficult, but overall it a good race, and I will definitely run more half marathons in the future!” Thank you Urenna for completing your first half marathon in aid of Prior's Court and congratulations on doing so well!
