News & events Par-tnership with golf club will drive forward fundraising appeal Golf club members are swinging into action to support autistic young people with complex needs at a West Berkshire charity. Hermitage-based autism charity Prior’s Court has teamed up with Donnington Grove Golf Club for a year of fundraising efforts by club members. The club’s lady’s and men’s captains, Sarah Jolly and Kieran Watson, are spearheading the fundraising efforts with a whole year of events planned, culminating in a fundraising finale at the captains’ charity event in September 2025. The theme of the partnership is fun – and Club Captain Kieran Watson and Lady Captain Sarah Jolly are already planning an exciting calendar of social and golfing events to raise funds for the cause. Upcoming events include a charity quiz night, an International Golf Day, the club’s much-loved St. George’s Golf Day, and a fun Hawaiian-themed Golf Day. In addition, the Ladies’ Spring and Summer Golf Meetings are already in the diary, with plenty more ideas in the pipeline. Aimée Hoyle, Prior’s Court’s Corporate and Community Fundraising Lead, said: “This partnership with Donnington Grove Golf Club offers an exciting opportunity to blend charity with fun, engaging events that deepen community involvement and support for Prior’s Court. “Through a mix of themed golf days, social club events, and unique fundraising activities, this collaboration aims to raise money, make an impact in their local community, while creating memorable experiences for club members. “We’ll be looking to strengthen ties with Donnington Grove by inviting club members to visit Prior’s Court and learn more about autistic young people with complex needs and maybe even for a spot of volunteering.” Fundraising efforts by club members will support Prior’s Court Play Equipment appeal, with the club captains specifically looking to support bike and scooter sheds for the autistic young people with complex needs we support. Sarah said: “We’re excited to work with Prior’s Court’s Fundraising team and the young people at Prior’s Court to raise as much as possible. We have lots of creative plans in the works, and we’re looking forward to a fantastic year of fundraising!” The Donnington-based club has already raised money through a raffle and has placed Prior’s Court collection boxes in the pro shop and members' areas at the club.
