Holly Knox, mother of Prior's Court young person Fredi, took on the infamous Mount Snowdon Climb on Saturday, 9 May to raise money for Prior’s Court, the charity which has supported her autistic son since 2024.

When asked how her climb had gone, Holly said, “It was amazing and am just so happy I was able to raise some funds for Prior’s Court. It was a cold day but the views were incredible, and knowing that what I was doing would give Fredi and his peers some incredible experiences made all the effort worth it.”

Fredi has a diagnosis of autism, ADHD, and epilepsy, and has been a day pupil at Prior’s Court since 2024, moving to a residential placement earlier this year. Holly describes the ‘remarkable’ effect the charity has had on her son, saying, “Fredi is flourishing here, growing in confidence and independence, and living a meaningful, fulfilling life. As his mum, that is everything.”

Holly has managed to raise more than £1,300 with Gift Aid, but there is still plenty of time to donate. Everything Holly raises will be going towards Prior’s Court’s Enriching Experiences Appeal, which helps to provide autism-friendly events so the young people we support are able to experience the same things as their peers. Autism, complex needs and sensory challenges can make it difficult for young people to attend seasonal events that others their age do such as Easter Egg hunts, summer fairgrounds, fireworks displays, and Christmas Carol Concerts. This appeal ensures autistic children get to have these experiences despite their sensory challenges.
