Prior's Court teamed up with a world-renowned racecourse ahead of World Autism Acceptance Month on a special day of horse racing.

Prior's Court was on hand at Ascot Racecourse's Spring Family Raceday on Sunday, 29 March, where our staff members were serving delicious baked goods made by staff and young people in our on-site bakery. The initiative provided an opportunity to engage racegoers young and old while highlighting the achievements of the autistic young people with complex needs we support.

The racecourse donated race naming rights to the 3.40pm “The Ascot Racecourse Supports Prior’s Court School Handicap Steeple Chase” with Prior's Court representatives given the honour of presenting trophies to winning connections.  Prior's Court was the beneficiary of the official bucket collectors on the day at the event.

All funds raised on the day went to our Enriching Experiences appeal.

What is the Enriching Experiences appeal about?

Autistic young people with complex needs deserve to experience the same things as others their age. But, complex needs and sensory challenges can make it difficult for young people to attend seasonal events that others their age do such as Easter Egg hunts, summer fairgrounds, fireworks displays, and Christmas Carol Concerts.

A donation to our Enriching Experiences Appeal can bring these sorts of events to the young people at Prior’s Court and provide them, and their families, the special moments which can often feel impossible.
