News & events News The London Marathon provides a challenge for two brave Prior's Court runners A prodigious pair each with their own deep connections to Prior’s Court have taken on a marathon challenge to support autistic young people with complex needs. On Sunday, 26 April, Mark Mederson and Brandon Milburn proudly represented Prior’s Court at the TCS London Marathon, raising vital funds to support the autistic young people supported by Prior’s Court. The pair completed the marathon in 4:18:42 and 5:34:18, respectively, an incredible feat and testament to all the hard work and training they've put in. They both have their own intimate connections to Prior's Court, making this huge achievement all the more meaningful. Mark is currently the Head of Care while Brandon’s brother James has been supported by Prior’s Court since 2022. When asked how the marathon had gone, Brandon said, “it was an amazing day with a wonderful atmosphere, I am incredibly proud to have completed it for such a special cause that’s close to me and my family, that will be my first and last marathon!" Donate to Brandon's fundraiser Mark has worked at Prior’s Court for the last 12 years in various roles, most recently as the Head of Care. When asked about his experience, he said, "I'm feeling very proud of making it round the course and for the amazing donations received. It’s been an unbelievable experience and one I won’t forget. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported me on this journey. I have decided to raise money for Prior's Court's Enriching Experiences appeal which will give our young people some incredible opportunities. It really is a fantastic cause." Donate to Mark's fundraiser Both runners undertook months of dedicated training and fundraising to help make a difference for the autistic young people and families supported by Prior’s Court. Between the pair of them, they have managed to raise nearly £7,500 including Gift Aid. Part of Mark’s fundraising came from a raffle with some incredible prizes, including hotel stays, extra days of annual leave for Prior's Court staff, and more. Natalie Norris, Fundraising Manager at Prior’s Court, said: “We are incredibly proud of Mark and Brandon for taking on such a huge challenge in support of Prior’s Court. It was lovely to be able to go and support them in person, especially after all of their hard work and dedicated training. Seeing them both in their Prior's Court tops and doing such an incredible job was amazing. Thank you to Mark and Brandon for what they've done, it will truly make a huge difference to the lives of the young autistic people with complex needs we support."
