Two determined young adults at Prior's Court have gone the extra mile once again, taking part in and completing the Run Dorney 10k at the iconic Dorney Lake.

Massive congratulations to Charlotte House young adults Alfie and Brandon, who both successfully completed the 10k race on Saturday, 4 October at the venue that famously hosted rowing and canoe sprint events during the London 2012 Olympic Games..

The pair are no strangers to the course, having previously taken part in a 5k event at Dorney Lake in December last year, followed by a 10k at Parallel Windsor in July. This latest achievement marks another well-deserved finisher’s medal to add to their growing collection.

Alfie finished in a time of 01:15:41 while Brandon's finishing time was 1:31:08.

A huge well done also goes to staff members Nathan Elborn and Chris Sturm for completing the race and for their ongoing encouragement and support in helping Alfie and Brandon continue to develop their passion for running.

Inspired to take on a fundraising run for Prior's Court?

The event, part of the Run Dorney series, brought together runners of all abilities at the scenic Dorney Lake venue

Nathan and Chris have been taking Brandon, Alfie and other young adults in Charlotte House (one of the homes in our Young Adult Provision) to the gym at Northcroft Leisure Centre, Newbury, over the past 18 months to help a) build up their fitness and b) provide the young adults with time in the community.
