One young person enjoyed his first trip out in the community since moving to a new home in December of 2025.

This young person moved up into Prior's Court's Young Adult Provision at the end of last year, and enjoyed his first trip out into the community since the move. He started with a walk around Greenham Common and then went for dinner in Chilli's Indian Restaurant in Newbury. He was happy throughout the day, walking around Greenham Common - a place that has previously been anxiety inducing - happily and with no issues. He was also happy while in the restaurant, enjoying his meal and even helping with the payment at the end.

The team in Bradbury, the home he has moved in to, allowed a little bit of time for him to settle in before taking him out into the community to allow him time to settle in and build up relationships with his new staff members. As a result of this, his first trip out was a huge success!

Nuhu Mpete, one of the staff members who supported this young person on this trip, said: “It was so amazing to see him settling well in Bradbury and managing well his anxiety whilst he is on offsite trips. Greenham Common was one of the more challenging places for him to go for a walk as he was struggling a lot before to manage his anxiety whilst he is around such venues with shops or restaurants.

"We are all very proud of him to see the incredible progress he has made.”

This young person has been doing so well since his move to Bradbury that a case study has been written about him and the techniques staff used to ensure he settled in as well as possible.
