Support us Corporate and community support Downe House return to lend a hand in an ongoing gardening task 13 fantastic volunteers from Downe House, an independent all-girls residential school just around the corner from Prior's Court, came in on Saturday to lend a hand in an ongoing gardening project. They were continuing the good work of other groups including Tanium and the AWE, removing some dense and overgrown bushes in order to create a more open and inviting space for our young people. They broke out the saws and loppers and did a fantastic job clearing out some more space. Because of the age of the bushes, they were becoming dense enough to climb on, so removing them was an important step in keeping our site safe. Another group of girls in the meantime were working hard sweeping the driveway of branches, bird nests and other debris that had been blown out of trees as a result of Storm Amy. These would have become dangerous trip hazards had they been left, so they were completing essential work. As always, thank you Downe House for your hard work, you did a lot of work in a relatively short space of time!
