Support us Downe House School students be-leave in working together A group of 14 students AGS house, at Downe House School got hands-on in their volunteering efforts on a visit to make a difference to our work with autistic young people with complex needs. After classes on Wednesday, 13 November, the group of 14 students and two teachers overcame the cold and the dark to clear four bags of leaves from the courtyard of our Main School building. On our 50-acre rural site, there is plenty of grounds upkeep required and this group certainly played their part here. By clearing the leaves, pathways are maintained and we reduce the risk of young people or staff slipping on the leaves as we head into wet /damp weather. Overall, the visiting group donated 10.5 hours of valuable work on what was AGS house's fourth volunteering visit to us in 2024. One of the Downe House students who visited said: “Volunteering at Prior's Court was a very fun experience for me and my friends. Upon arrival, we were given a short introduction to Prior's Court and what they do for autistic children and young adults. We then got started on our leaf clearing; there were many pieces of equipment to choose from. I got a wheelbarrow! We spent an hour leaf clearing and afterwards we got some cookies and brownies! "Thank you, Prior’s Court, for letting us help out, it helped us learn the impact such a small job can make on young people's lives.” See what our other supporters have done to help our work Manage Cookie Preferences
