Support us Our appeals Performing Arts Centre January 2025 update The big update from our last post is the construction phase of the Performing Arts Centre project has, more or less, finished! The outdoor learning area has been completed, the theatre space, the music rooms, and the dance studio inside are now complete and the “yellow brick road” to the building’s reception has been laid down: The retractable mirrors are also now in place in the dance studio. There are a couple of construction aspects still to finish – most notably installing the canopy over the outdoor learning area, and fitting out the reception area. But we’re now also moving onto the fitting out stage with really exciting developments planned over the next month including: The installation of the retractable theatre-style seating AV installation And exploring what equipment is needed in the various rooms. Elsewhere, the performing arts curriculum is being finalised. This details what young people will be learning in the building, how it will be delivered and by whom with the aim to ensure learning takes place both inside and outside of School hours. We’re looking to get the autistic young people with complex needs we support into the building to explore it in the coming months, ahead of formal learning starting afterwards. Plans are being developed for a grand opening in the summer. Find out about our fundraising appeals Manage Cookie Preferences
