News & events Vodafone smash a number of important odd-jobs to keep the site safe A big group from our neighbours down the road, Vodafone, came in and completed a number of small but important odd-jobs around Prior's Court, from strimming, to moving soil, to removing bits of tree, and weeding. It was once again a day of two halves for this group of 16 from Vodafone, with the morning spent moving soil from our Countryside Learning Centre to continue filling in the hole at the track in preparation for new play equipment going in. Many trips of soil and many bags were used, and they made fantastic progress! Another group were strimming back some of the stinging nettles and weeds around the track, which could cause harm if touched or ingested. Their work keeping the site safe and accessible is invaluable and means the young people we support can explore their environment without fear. Safety was the order of the day in the afternoon, with more strimming taking place in the Countryside Learning Centre, cutting down more nettles and overgrown grasses, making it look neat and again ensuring the safety of the young people who spend time there. The rest of the apple trees in the orchard were also weeded, allowing them to grow safely, and logs from a previously cut down tree were also moved out of the garden of one of our residential homes. A few of the volunteers even went in with the goats to weed their pasture, which, judging by how friendly they were, they were very grateful for! As always, thank you Vodafone for all of your hard work, it was an absolute pleasure to have you on site and we hope to have you back soon!
